Looking for new ideas is always worth a shot and you can save yourself valuable time.
Still, I think that there are certain things you need to do and learn from yourself. Analysis by paralysis is a thing and it happens a lot that people get stuck reading book after book, acquiring tons of knowledge but not learning to apply it.
