First of all, I am absolutely impressed by your courage to share what you are afraid of. We all have our inner demons and from my experience I know it can be a huge step to even try and share them.

Especially the part about your addiction — that you could get into circumstances where you would choose your personal pleasure above everything else. To step out there and admit that is pretty fucking ballsy.

What I quoted above — hurting a loved one — hit close to home. I have been in this situation more times than I can count and never on purpose. Just like you, I thought I would learn at one point. And I have. It happens way less nowadays, but it still happens. I think the important part is to not beat yourself up about it. That’s life. Shit happens. If you genuinely try to be a good person and do your best, there isn’t much you can blame yourself for.

Mistakes happen and they happen for a reason. That’s why I like your closing words on that point so much, as they are words I live by.

“What can I learn from this?”
