Negative thoughts are a part of life. No reason to freak out about them, but no reason to completely banish them either. Actually, dealing with negative emotions requires you to allow and experience them fully.

Your self-worth isn’t determined by how much you like your good sides, but rather by how OK you are with your bad sides, aka the fact that you are not perfect and never will be.

And to get there, do exactly as you said. Acknowledge that you are work in progress and that this is OK. Don’t beat yourself up but use that energy.
